Product overview

The Intermittent Pneumatic Compression Device is a pump-and-garment system that cyclically inflates and deflates sleeves around the legs or arms. It is used in hospital wards, vascular and lymphoedema clinics and physiotherapy departments to support venous return, reduce limb swelling and assist in the prevention of deep vein thrombosis in immobile patients.

Inflatable garments are wrapped around the limb and connected to the controller, which fills the chambers in sequence and then releases them, mimicking the muscle pump action of walking. Pressure and cycle timing are selected by the clinician according to the indication. The device is intended for use under the guidance of a healthcare professional, who will confirm it is appropriate for the individual patient.

Highlights

  • Cyclic sequential compression of legs or arms
  • Supports venous return and reduces limb swelling
  • Used in DVT prophylaxis for immobile patients
  • Clinician-selectable pressure and cycle settings
  • For hospital, clinic and physiotherapy use
